Upon request, we perform air quality testing
- using the Dräger Aerotest D20700
- using the PURACON device from L&W
Recommendations for aerotest measurements
- Perform the measurement from the compressor (not from the pressure cylinder)
- Pressure cylinders that are not completely dry after a hydrostatic test will distort the test results
- Perform the test at a stable temperature for both the compressor and the measuring device (20°C) (e.g., do not measure immediately after moving the unit from outdoors)
- Clean the connecting hoses and filling valve with alcohol by flushing them, then dry them thoroughly
- Before measuring, the measuring device must be cleaned (dried) with compressed air from a compressor with a filter cartridge installed after refurbishment, for approx. 1/2 hour (see the manufacturer’s operating instructions for the measuring device)
- Use original filter cartridge refills (not silica gel)
- Always use new felt inserts in the compressor filter cartridge
- Maintain the correct ratio of activated carbon to molecular sieve (30% / 70%)
- Do not use expired exhalation tubes
Always follow the operating instructions for the specific measuring device (e.g., measurement duration, tube insertion method, etc.). Pay particular attention to point 5
We recommend training with the Aerotest manufacturer.
Basic Information
- We provide warranty and post-warranty service for ASTRA high-pressure compressors at our headquarters in Prague 5 within a short timeframe.
- After disassembling the compressor, the customer is provided with an estimate of the service cost. If the customer does not agree to the service, they may take the compressor away in its disassembled state. The final service cost is determined after completion of all service work based on actual service costs. Payment for service is subject to our payment terms.
- The warranty period for service can be claimed at our company headquarters within 3 months of receiving the machine.
- Our company carries a complete range of all spare parts.
- We provide professional training on proper use for users of our products.
- We will issue a training certificate upon request.
Operating Instructions for ASTRA High-Pressure Compressors
Before putting the compressor into operation, carefully familiarize yourself with the safety instructions below, the basic functions of the compressor, and its operation and maintenance. See the compressor operating manual.
- It is assumed that the persons operating the compressor are qualified and have been trained by the manufacturer.
- The compressor must be placed in a horizontal position before startup. A maximum tilt of 5° is permissible, but the compressor must always rest on a non-slip surface. The distance from the wall must be at least 50 cm to ensure sufficient airflow to the compressor fan. At the same time, check the oil level in the crankcase of the cold compressor. The compressor must be depressurized. The oil level must reach the upper mark on the dipstick (when unscrewed) for the ASTRA V32 and V3 models. For the ASTRA 160 model, the level must reach the marks on the outside of the compressor cover. Top off the oil as needed. Check whether a filter cartridge is installed in the high-pressure filter; if not, insert the cartridge into the filter. Before installation, check that the O-rings on the cartridge shaft are intact.
- The maximum ambient temperature for compressor operation in a well-ventilated room or in outdoor conditions may be up to +30°C. The minimum ambient temperature for compressor operation should not fall below +5°C due to the oil’s lubricity.
- When connecting the compressor suction to a separate atmospheric air supply, ensure a minimum cross-sectional area of 50 cm² (d = 80 mm). The suction supply line must not be damaged or kinked in any way. Before adding oil, you must disconnect the suction supply at the compressor inlet.
- Check that both V-belts are properly tensioned and not damaged.
- Start the compressor—check the correct direction of fan rotation according to the arrow marked on the crankcase cover above the filler neck or the arrow on the fiberglass cover. CAUTION! The airflow must be directed from the grille of the fiberglass cover toward the compressor block. Select the appropriate phase position on the reversing switch (position 1 or position 2) according to the correct direction of rotation, or switch the phase position on the 380V reversing tap (if installed).
- Depending on the humidity, drain the accumulated condensate from both separators approximately every 15–20 minutes by loosening the drain screws. The condensate must be collected in a separate drain pan with due regard for the environment.
- All threads must be lubricated with oil to prevent damage, especially the filter cover when replacing the filter cartridge.
- Filter cartridge replacement: Under normal conditions at 80% relative humidity, the cartridge must be replaced after approximately 10 months—applies to portable compressors—or after 75 months.-applies to STABIL compressors; during refurbishment, it is also necessary to replace the cartridge’s felt inserts and check the shaft O-ring; use molecular sieve and activated carbon cartridges supplied by the ASTRA compressor manufacturer so that the air at the compressor outlet meets the breathing air standard. After inserting the cartridge into the filter, DO NOT FORGET to place the compression spring under the filter cover above the filter cartridge. If non-original fillings are used, the manufacturer does not guarantee the safety of the compressed air.
- Oil Change: Change the LM750 synthetic oil every 100 hours. For a new machine and after a compressor overhaul, perform oil changes according to the maintenance schedule. If other oils are used, the manufacturer is not liable for any resulting defects. Regularly check the oil level—top up with LM750 oil according to the compressor’s operating instructions.
- The filling cross valves are lubricated with food-grade grease; for new valves, before first use or after repair, let them blow through for 10 minutes to completely remove any residual grease.
- The compressor must be connected to a five-wire electrical circuit.
- This applies to all compressors, including those equipped with automatic condensate drainage; after filling is complete, the pressure must be released from the compressor by opening the drain screws on both filters.
